The bubbles greenhouse has a double layer roof with a cavity in between. When climate/ weather/ daylight requires we fill this cavity with soap bubbles and insulation will go up with factor 10! When insulation is not required anymore we remove the bubbles to permit maximum light transmission.

Input for the greenhouse is organic household waste that we convert into a safe and stable fertilizer. Organic waste is processed into biogas and digestate by existing waste treatment facilities, the remaining digestate contains nutrients and is converted in an innovative process of our partner Lindum with vermiculture into safe fertilizer for the greenhouse.

The design is based on existing greenhouse components and has been tested for 2 years in co-operation with Lindum AS and Poznan University. The next pilot in Poznan will show commercial scale growing and we will use it to finalize design.
